What you will do

As a Data Governance Expert, you are the strategic force behind data governance initiatives for our clients. You advise at executive level on the design of data governance, translate strategies into organization-wide frameworks, and lead complex implementations of dgl’s Data Governance Framework and our software.

You develop and refine governance methodologies, guide organizations in their transformation toward data-driven operations, and ensure that agreements around data are both valuable and sustainable. In addition, you act as a thought leader: sharing knowledge, publishing, and speaking at events to further advance the field.

Within dgl, you actively contribute to innovation and the continued professionalization of our offerings. You are the expert who inspires clients and colleagues, provides direction, and builds trust.

What we ask

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (e.g., Information Science, Business Administration, Data Science, or a related field)
• At least 8 years of experience in data governance, data management, or similar domains
• In-depth knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices (including DAMA-DMBOK)
• Experience leading large-scale implementations and change management initiatives
• Strong stakeholder management skills: you engage seamlessly with C-level executives and guide organizations through complex change processes
• Strategic insight combined with a pragmatic approach: you know how to turn vision into tangible results
• Excellent communication and presentation skills: able to explain complex topics clearly and persuasively
• Experience with agile methodologies and leading multidisciplinary teams
• Preferred: International certifications in data governance or data management (e.g., CDMP, DGSP, BABOK)
• Preferred: Experience as a speaker, trainer, or author in the field of data governance
